FAQs

  • We use the latest techniques and products for effective damp proofing. Our approach is tailored to each property, and we start with a thorough inspection to identify the best solution for your specific issue.

  • A damp survey is a comprehensive assessment of your property to identify areas affected by damp, poor insulation, or water ingress. It may include thermal imaging, drain and roof inspections. A damp survey is often required by mortgage companies and can be conducted on their behalf. The survey cost is refunded upon completion of any related works outlined in the quote.

  • A £90 fee is required to book your initial damp survey with one of our specialists, which will be deducted from the final cost of any remedial work. If you proceed with us for the remediation, a 20% deposit will be requested before work begins.

  • Please ensure rooms are clear of furniture and personal items. We use protective floor covers and take care to minimize dust, but we recommend covering remaining items. Our dust extraction system helps control the mess, and we clean thoroughly after the job is complete. In some cases, we may recommend professional cleaning.

  • To minimize disruption, we offer additional services like refitting skirting boards, radiators, and electrical outlets. Our team of carpenters, electricians, and plumbers will ensure your property is restored to its original condition.

  • Typically, the plaster will take 1-2 weeks to dry, depending on temperature and humidity. Our modern damp-proofing methods dry faster than traditional techniques, so you'll notice quicker results.

Brighton is a unique and distinctive place to live. This is true both with it’s history, culture and people but also with its buildings. Most of the town was build prior to modern damp proofing techniques were used as standard, which leads to issues such as rising damp. This is of particular prevalence in multi-story buildings with large basements, which are common for the area’s architecture.

When lots of Brighton’s buildings were being built, a material called Bungaroosh was common. We now know that this material is highly porous and is a leading cause of moisture infiltration within homes and structures, and requires specialist remediation in order to ensure your space is kept watertight. Lastly, due to its coastal location, Brighton is more liable to extremes of weather, and being so close to the ocean, salt and wind deposits can wreak havoc with rendering.
