External Wall Insulation

External wall insulation significantly improves your home’s energy efficiency by reducing heat loss, helping to lower heating bills and boost your EPC rating. It creates a warmer, more comfortable living environment while reducing the risk of condensation and mould growth. Our external insulation works are finished with a silicon render, allowing walls to breath while also leaving them water resistant & crack resistant. Perfect for Brighton and Hove’s costal climate.

External insulation will not effect the dimensions of your internal space of your home and will leave living spaces unaffected.

Insulation can vary from 30mm to 150mm.

Research by the University of Salford shows that insulating solid walls can cut heat loss by up to 50% and reduce heating costs by around 30% (Salford University). The Energy Saving Trust notes that around a third of a home’s heat escapes through the walls, so improving insulation makes a major difference to comfort and efficiency (Energy Saving Trust). Experts also highlight that large-scale insulation upgrades are vital to reducing fuel poverty and helping the UK meet its net zero targets (The Guardian). External insulation not only saves energy and money but also helps prevent damp and mould, creating a warmer, healthier living environment.

Internal Wall Insulation

Internal wall insulation is a cost-effective solution for improving the warmth and energy efficiency of your home. It’s significantly cheaper than external insulation and offers a quicker turnaround time, making it ideal for properties where external work isn’t practical. Internal insulation works particularly well with bungaroosh and single-skin walls that lack cavities, helping to reduce heat loss and improve comfort. However, it does come with some trade-offs — you may lose between 27mm and 100mm of internal space, and the installation process can cause some disruption inside the property.

The types we offer are: Thermaline and Celotex.

Insulation systems such as Thermaline insulated plasterboard and External Wall Insulation (EWI) offer significant benefits for the ageing housing stock in Brighton and Hove, where many properties are solid-walled and prone to heat loss and condensation. By improving thermal performance, these systems help retain heat, reduce energy bills, and raise internal surface temperatures, which in turn limits condensation and mould growth. This is particularly important in older homes where cold walls and poor insulation contribute to damp-related issues. When correctly specified, Thermalline and EWI not only enhance comfort and energy efficiency but also help protect the building fabric, extending the lifespan of traditional properties while meeting modern living standards.
